One of the World's Most Iconic Yachts

Hinckley Yachts are universally known for building iconic, luxury yachts that have created a unique legacy and place in yachting. But what truly set Hinckley apart was the introduction of their “picnic boat,” a jet-drive that combines speed, class, and extreme shoal draft in one gorgeous and extraordinary yacht. Simply put, every minute you spend on a Hinckley is as special and rewarding as it can possibly be.
The lines of a Hinckley were a direct result of their need to endure the rigors of life among the rocky coves and jutting promontories of Maine’s Acadian coast. To Henry Hinckley, frivolous design had no place on such unforgiving waters. A specific form was borne of these nautical circumstances, characterized by a strong, well-found hull, sweeping deck lines to quickly shed foaming waters, with overhanging bows and fine counters to lend stability in angry seas.

Hinckley 36 Picnic Boat Classic

Built in 1997 as hull #56 of the original iconic design, she was extensively refit by Hinckley in 2023. This included new and improved systems, such as a Yanmar Common Rail 440 turbo-diesel engine and a Jet Drive with Jet Stick 2. Other updates include Garmin electronics, a FLIR camera, a Fusion entertainment system, adjustable lighting, fabrics, a Stidd helm seat, teak decks, overhead hatches, and side-opening pilothouse windows.
This impeccable Hinckley was also heavily optioned at build with rare teak decks, full teak veneers in the pilothouse, teak coaming boards, custom cabinetry, a varnished folding teak cocktail table, an adjustable backrest for the engine compartment, and more.

What's in a name?

Ever wondered where our yacht gets its unforgettable name? Caddyshack fans, rejoice—you nailed it! Inspired by the hilariously chaotic scene at Rolling Hills Yacht Club, where Ted Knight’s Judge Smails christens the Flying Wasp, only for Rodney Dangerfield’s Al Czervik to swoop in, drop anchor (literally through the Judge’s boat!), and bellow the legendary, “You scratched my anchor!” It’s pure nautical comedy gold. As we cruise by, don’t be surprised if nearby boaters shout out their favorite Caddyshack quotes. Around here, it’s always a floating tribute to one of the funniest movie moments on water!

It’s easy to grin when your ship comes in, and you’ve got the stock market beat. But the man worthwhile, Is the man who can smile, when his shorts are too tight in the seat.
